About The Position

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Plant Maintenance Night Shift at our Columbia West Quarry in Columbia, MO. This role involves troubleshooting, decision-making, problem-solving, and attention to detail within an exciting industry. The position requires the ability to work outdoors year-round and in elevated areas, performing general physical activities such as climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, and handling material. The shift for this position is 10pm - 6am.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Valid US driver’s license
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Knowledge of MSHA regulations
Effective written and verbal communication
Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
Ability to work in elevated areas
General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material

Nice To Haves

Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
Previous maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
Disassemble machines and remove parts for repairs using hand tools, chain falls, jacks or hoists
Inspect equipment for signs of wear
Collaborate with team members to repair moving machine parts for equipment or transport materials between work areas
Lubricate machines, machine parts or other equipment according to standards
Tend to equipment such as conveyors to move materials through production processes
Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
Perform welding and fabrication activities as needed
Work in a team environment
Clean work areas
Proper wear of personal protective equipment
Notify supervisors of repairs needed
