Lead the maintenance operations of a cutting-edge waste-to-energy (WTE) facility and ensure critical systems run safely, efficiently, and reliably. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree, or specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college in maintenance/repair or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of full-time equivalent maintenance experience in a supervisory role or a closely related experience.
  • Must successfully pass a background check before any offer of employment or promotion.
  • Must meet the City’s required medical standards as determined by a licensed physician.
  • This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.

Nice To Haves

  • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) certification as a Qualified Resource Recovery Operator (QRO)
  • Virginia Class IV Waste Operators license
