About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The Maintenance Generalist will work a rotating schedule of 3-day and 4-day workweeks with 12-hour shifts. The pay ranges from $24.10 to $30.15 per hour, depending on experience. This role involves maintaining and promoting the Tyson safety culture, receiving required training, performing various positions as assigned, and assisting the maintenance supervisor with personnel and equipment. The role also includes assigning maintenance techs to equipment during process periods, assisting with preventative maintenance and breakdowns, training maintenance techs on equipment, utilizing a computer-based PM program to track equipment maintenance, and filling in for absenteeism or assisting in other areas of the plant. General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes setting up, adjusting, and breaking down production line machinery. The role requires learning Tyson SAP software for work orders and daily documentation, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to use math for computations related to machinery and fluid capacities. The position requires the ability to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the 12-hour shift and work on your feet for the entire shift. All required training for the job must be completed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate and/or student of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis.
  • Willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours.
  • Willing to complete all required training for the job.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
