About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The Maintenance Generalist will work a rotating schedule of 3-day and 4-day workweeks with 12-hour shifts. The role involves keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production, setting up, adjusting, and breaking down production line machinery. The successful candidate will learn Tyson SAP software for work orders and daily documentation, possess good verbal and written communication skills, and be able to perform math-related computations. The job requires the ability to lift 70 lbs. periodically and stand for 12 hours, and completion of all required training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate and/or student of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis.
  • Willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.
  • Receive training as required.
  • Perform various positions as required/assigned.
  • Assist maintenance supervisor with personnel and equipment.
  • Assign maintenance techs to equipment during process periods.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Train maintenance techs on equipment.
  • Utilize computer-based PM program to track equipment maintenance.
  • Fill in for absenteeism or assist in other areas of the plant.
  • Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery.
  • Learn and utilize Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out daily documentation.
  • Communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel, and drivers.
  • Perform math-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
  • Complete all required training for the job.
