About The Position

We are hiring a Plant Maintenance Engineer to supervise the overall maintenance program of wastewater treatment plants and lift stations. This role includes managing preventative maintenance, inventory control, developing plans for equipment needs and emergency situations, and providing technical support for electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation. The Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant is an award-winning, advanced tertiary treatment facility that handles an average of 35 million gallons per day and is staffed 24/7. The facility operates under EPA and MoDNR regulations and produces high-quality effluent with no negative environmental impact.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Three years of experience in the maintenance of a wastewater or water treatment plant or similar industrial facility.
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Proof of United States Citizenship/Authorization to Work in the United States.
Must complete the City of Springfield on-line application in its entirety.

Nice To Haves

A Class "A" Wastewater Operator's Certificate is preferred.
PE (Professional Engineer) license is preferred.
Directly related work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
