About The Position

The Plant IT Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining all computer and network components within the plant, including servers, network equipment, wireless access points, cabling, printers, and workstations. This role also involves handling vendor access requests, managing software licenses, and overseeing security camera and access control systems. The technician will utilize knowledge of Cisco phone systems and Kronos clock systems, and will be involved with all "Production Floor / Plant Floor Systems". Key duties include working with end-users to propose new hardware and software solutions, testing modifications before production implementation, providing hardware and software diagnostics, collaborating with Department Managers on projects, and assisting the Automation Electronic and Instrumentation Team. The role also requires communicating plant system outages and notices, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & Power Point) experience
OS (Operating Systems Knowledge Base) Windows 10 and 11
Basic or fundamental electrical / electronic knowledge (24v to 110v)
Cabling knowledge (CAT5, CAT5E, CAT6, Coax RJ 6 and 59, Serial 232, Single / Multi Mode Fiber Optics)
Basic printer knowledge of dot matrix, laser, and thermal printers
Functional, working, and troubleshooting knowledge of: Citrix desktop / client Server, Windows 10&11, Office 2016 and 2019.
Cisco Network Switch management (cabling, connectivity, configurations and troubleshooting)
Programming DOT Net/C#
Scripting experience with PowerShell
Basic or fundamental networking knowledge
Ability to work in Plant industrial environment
Maintain availability after production hours and weekends
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

2 year degree (A.S., A.A.S. or A.A.) preferred but not required
Microsoft Certifications (MCSE) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain all computer/network components including servers, network equipment, wireless access points, cabling, printers, and workstations.
Handle vendor access requests.
Manage and secure software licenses.
Oversee security camera systems and access control systems.
Utilize knowledge of Cisco phone systems and Kronos clock systems.
Manage all “Production Floor / Plant Floor Systems”.
Work with end users proposing new hardware and software solutions.
Test all hardware and software modifications before they are introduced into production.
Provide hardware and software diagnostics for network, hardware, and software issues.
Work with Department Managers on projects as required.
Assist the Automation Electronic and Instrumentation Team on related tasks as required.
Communicate Plant Systems Outages and Notices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
