About The Position

The Plant Technician is responsible for surveillance and overall upkeep of our PSM compression/treating facilities (including compressors, amine systems, dehydration systems, heat medium heaters, tanks, separators, DOT pipelines, pigging operations and controls systems). Under general supervision, this position prepares, maintains, and submits daily reports and records of daily gas and/or liquid volume, and volume of chemicals used, etc. assuring compressors, dehydrators and amine systems are up and running. Develops and apply an understanding of site issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Plant operations or maintenance experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of PSM requirement is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform operational checks of assigned equipment and plant facilities
  • Adjust plant operations to maintain tailgate gas specifications and gas nominations
  • Report nominations and gas volumes to company and gas marketing agencies
  • Monitor field sites for upsets that may alter incoming gas and result in adjustments to the plant operating parameters
  • Record run time, and operating parameters into tracked daily logs
  • Conduct daily rounds and perform minor repairs
  • Keep all equipment clean and free of leaks
  • Perform call out duties for down equipment
  • Identify site alarms and work with automation to adjust alarms as necessary
  • Collaborate with engineers and operations concerning plant activities
  • General facility upkeep (fences, signs, weeds, trash)
  • Communicates corrective maintenance needs to foreman
  • Participating in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions
  • Participate in updating and maintaining procedures and records for plant operations
  • Represent the Company in delivery/receipt of materials and equipment
  • Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the operations, engineers, foreman, management and safety teams
  • Secure and maintain all Company equipment, including but not limited to computers, vehicles, and analysis or test equipment
  • Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist or are suspected
  • Provide field wide contact with all personnel in the event of emergency or other significant occurrences
  • Maintain positive relationship with Local, state/province, and Federal representatives and surface owners
  • Work a regular 7 days on and 7 days off schedule with 12 hours shifts alternating between day shifts and night shifts. There is potential for some call outs on nights and weekends
  • Field calls from field and public through a 24/7 call in number located on all Company field locations (well sites, compressor stations and water disposal sites)
  • Responsible for performing operational checks of plant facilities
  • Responsible for maintaining gas specifications and nominations at the tailgate of the plant
