Plant Healthcare Technician | Chesterfield, MI
About The Position
Performs fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs and lawns using spray and injection tools. This role involves cultivating your career and fertilizing your future by properly identifying and diagnosing insects, weeds, fungus conditions, and pest-prone areas. You will communicate with and educate clients regarding diagnoses and prescribed pest control and fertilization services. The technician will continuously monitor plant health quality and fertilizing methods after application and communicate progress to customers and supervisors. This role also requires driving, using, maintaining, and properly operating equipment, including a truck and sprayer.
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Qualified Plant Health Care Tech training program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping
- Turf, Weed, Tree and shrub ID, Pathology and knowledge of turf or tree physiology
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
Responsibilities
