About The Position

The Machine Operator is expected to safely and efficiently stage the necessary material for the daily operation; perform machine set-up and operate the line to produce finished products that meet or exceed all manufacturing and quality standards. The operator may need to assist with or operate other equipment, assist on the extrusion lines, or in the shipping area. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work area according to 5S guidelines and ensuring all tools and equipment are kept in their proper places. Additionally, the role involves entering production and quality check data electronically, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, and tracking production data.

  • Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture.
  • Ability to communicate with team effectively and respectfully and during shift transition.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
  • Keep work area clean according to the 5S guidelines.
  • Keep all tools and equipment in proper places.
  • Enter production and quality check data electronically on a computer.
  • Assist on or operate other manufacturing equipment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred.
  • Read Shop Floor orders written in English.
  • Read accurately up to 1/32” on a measuring device like a tape measure.

Responsibilities

  • Load WIP rolls of material on to the unwinds.
  • Set up the machine for various products.
  • Safely and efficiently produce products to the required specifications.
  • Remove excess trim scrap and throw away in compactor or place in recycling area.
  • Meet or exceed production quantity and quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Operate the bandsaw safely and efficiently.
  • Relocate the finished pallet to the designated storage area.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift as needed.
  • Read Shop Floor orders written in English.
  • Read accurately up to 1/32” on a measuring device like a tape measure.
  • Assist with other production assets as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment as required.
  • Track production data as required.
