About The Position

Pregis is seeking an Operator to join their team. The Machine Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently staging materials, setting up and operating machinery to produce finished products that meet or exceed manufacturing and quality standards. This role may also involve assisting with other equipment, extrusion lines, or the shipping area. Requirements

  • Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture.
  • Ability to communicate with team effectively and respectfully and during shift transition.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
  • Keep work area clean according to the 5S guidelines.
  • Keep all tools and equipment in proper places.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred
  • Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs).
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents.

Responsibilities

  • Load WIP rolls of material on to the unwinds.
  • Set up the machine for various products.
  • Safely and efficiently produce products to the required specifications.
  • Remove excess trim scrap and throw away in compactor or place in recycling area.
  • Meet or exceed production quantity and quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Operate the bandsaw safely and efficiently.
  • Relocate the finished pallet to the designated storage area.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift as needed.
  • Read Shop Floor orders written in English.
  • Read accurately up to 1/32” on a measuring device like a tape measure.
  • Assist with other production assets as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Enter production and quality check data electronically on a computer.
  • Assist on or operate other manufacturing equipment and perform preventative maintenance on the equipment as required.
  • Track production data as required.
