About The Position

The Plant General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the plant, including safety, financial performance (P&L), commercial sales development, staffing, operational efficiency, maintenance, and cost control. This role involves leading and developing plant team members, managing human resources and physical assets, and overseeing capital projects. The position requires a strong understanding of the local recycling market and the ability to develop and execute a commercial go-to-market plan.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safety of all plant team members and contractors, including setting vision and expectations, implementing safety initiatives, ensuring adherence to safety expectations, and developing/executing plant-specific safety plans.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the business (P&L responsibility).
  • Manage commercial sales development and execution through modern processes and the two Recycling Sales Reps.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the local Recycling market and develop a commercial go-to-market plan.
  • Responsible for the plant’s staffing, operational efficiency, maintenance, and cost control measures.
  • Effectively communicate operating plans, performance goals, and expectations to plant team members.
  • Support the business mission and vision by modeling desired behaviors and reinforcing key messages.
  • Responsible for leading and directing the development, training, and performance of plant team members.
  • Accountable for effective management of human resources and physical plant assets.
  • Accountable for capital project planning and implementation of approved projects.
