It requires specialized knowledge within the function and influences the development of strategy for its area of responsibility, including resource control and policy formulation. The leader interprets internal and external business challenges, recommends best practices, and stays informed of industry trends. High-level judgment is used for complex tasks and decision-making in operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering areas. The role involves assessing information quality, asking pertinent questions, offering new solutions, and providing recommendations, often drawing from multiple internal and some external sources. This position may lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity, and involves communicating difficult concepts and influencing others' opinions.
