About The Position

This role coordinates and expedites the flow of materials, both from suppliers and within departments, in accordance with production schedules. It involves planning and scheduling material and production needs, significantly impacting the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness objectives. The position operates under policy objectives with moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment. It involves managing master planning, material processes and systems, and preparing/updating production schedules and purchasing needs. The role ensures operational alignment with production plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and focuses on optimizing inventory and process improvements. It requires specialized knowledge within the function and influences the development of strategy for its area of responsibility, including resource control and policy formulation. The leader interprets internal and external business challenges, recommends best practices, and stays informed of industry trends. High-level judgment is used for complex tasks and decision-making in operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering areas. The role involves assessing information quality, asking pertinent questions, offering new solutions, and providing recommendations, often drawing from multiple internal and some external sources. This position may lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity, and involves communicating difficult concepts and influencing others' opinions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing or Materials Planning and Execution experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing or Materials Planning and Execution experience.
  • Ability to prove U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee or refugee status) due to access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules.
  • Plan and schedule material/production needs.
  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs.
  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs.
  • Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  • Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
  • Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services.
  • Stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
  • Assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
  • Offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and construct and provide recommendations.
  • Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Communicate difficult concepts and influence others' options on particular topics.
  • Guide others to consider a different point of view.
  • Use Advanced Planning Systems (APS) to release orders to the shop floor, review demand and supply.
  • Develop expertise in own function, including new Engine Modernization system (ERP).
  • Communicate using Advanced Material Tracking (AMT) to advise other plants about what is being shipped, and what is needed from outside suppliers.
