About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Plant Engineer at a 980 MW natural gas combined-cycle facility. This plant plays a critical role in both power generation and process steam supply, supporting refinery operations and the regional energy grid. You will be an important technical leader responsible for driving plant reliability, performance, and safety. You will lead engineering projects, support plant operations and maintenance, and manage capital projects from concept through execution. We offer a unique opportunity to work across engineering, operations, and construction in a complex, high-output energy facility. This is a fully onsite role requiring close collaboration with plant personnel and field teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in power generation (combined-cycle or thermal)
  • Experience with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering systems
  • Background in capital projects or plant improvements
  • Familiarity with gas turbines, HRSGs, and steam systems
  • Exposure to construction, commissioning, or field work
  • Knowledge of power plant systems, reliability, and performance optimization
  • Understanding of NERC, FERC, ASME standards
  • Experience with PI, CEMS/DAS, and data analysis tools
  • Excel and reporting skills
  • Engineering degree preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
  • TWIC card (or ability to obtain) required
  • PMP or project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitor plant performance and analyze data to improve efficiency, reliability, and output
  • Lead root cause analysis for outages and equipment failures; implement corrective actions
  • Support and implement planned outages, minimizing downtime and maximizing availability
  • Manage predictive maintenance programs (vibration, diagnostics, condition monitoring)
  • Oversee water treatment and chemistry programs for compliance and operation
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation (drawings, procedures, system changes)
  • Ensure compliance with NERC, ASME, and industry standards
  • Lead capital projects and plant upgrades from planning through execution
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships
  • Prepare and evaluate RFPs and bid packages
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and our teams to deliver project outcomes
  • Implement process improvements, cost savings, and system enhancements
  • Support technology evaluations and plant modernization projects
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, EH&S, and leadership teams
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities
