This role involves implementing project improvements to drive manufacturing performance in speed, waste reduction, cost reduction, and quality. The Plant Engineer will obtain project quotes, recommend contractor awards, and direct contractors for timely and accurate project completion. They will also provide cost, risk, and return analysis for project approval, and test/commission newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. Additionally, the role includes developing and executing plans for plant operations such as cost reduction, equipment installation, optimizing utilities and energy consumption, and providing engineering oversight to facility infrastructure (boilers, HVAC, compressed air, power transmission, etc.). The Plant Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate activities related to the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in an industrial plant, troubleshoot equipment operating issues, and define and resolve process problems through continuous improvement activities and structured problem-solving methods. This involves making observations, taking measurements, and collecting/interpreting data to develop and implement process improvements, and working closely with operators and staff overseeing quality control, maintenance, specifications, and production schedules.
