About The Position

Supervises, performs, coordinates and monitors energy plant activities to include the review daily boiler and chiller operation, HVAC equipment, vacuum systems, medical air and compressed air systems, emergency generators and related systems, electrical distribution systems, pumps, piping and delivery systems.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience in building trades or energy plant operations required.
  • Three years of experience is required if a trade or vocational school graduate.

Responsibilities

  • Performs service and repair operations to maintain energy plant equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds to established standards.
  • Ensures inventory of utility equipment remains current.
  • Assigns preventative and corrective work orders to plant engineers, ensures satisfactory completion of work orders, and keeps documentation of all work order activities.
  • Informs facility manger, chief engineer and/or supervisor of problems revealed during PM/corrective maintenance process, recommends corrective action, modification, and replacements.
  • Coordinates, conducts and documents all fire and life safety measures to include inspections and testing to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Assists in training other plant engineers with energy plant operation/maintenance specific skills.
  • Supports the organization through team commitment and involvement in engineering affairs.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining objectives, policies, procedures, and standards of operation.
  • Ensures standards for quality, safety and infection control are maintained.
  • Ensures Joint Commission and other regulatory or licensure requirements are updated and maintained.
  • Maintains current operational and repair records for all utilities equipment to include vendor related activities.
  • Performs regularly scheduled tests of fire alarms systems and ensures documentation is current.
  • Keeps work area orderly, clean and safe.
  • Promotes and engages in behavior that is conducive to Orlando Health’s standards of behavior.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
