About The Position

The Plant Electro Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots, installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, motors, gear boxes, bearings, gauges and test equipment. The Plant Electro Maintenance Mechanic will: Work from complex blue prints, wiring diagrams, shop and vendor manuals, layouts, and other specifications. Calibrate equipment, check furnaces operating condition, monitor glass levels and inspects samples for defects. Make minor adjustments and repairs and perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics and/or mechanical fields required
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and in a team environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical/electronic diagrams/drawings
  • Understanding of computers and related equipment is required
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures
  • Ability to work beneath machines
  • Ability to work in close quarters and hot areas performing analysis and repair work
  • Experience with AC/DC power distribution
  • Experience with high/low voltage applications
  • Experience with servo systems
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s)
  • Experience with pneumatic devices
  • Experience with hydraulic devices
  • Experience with electro-mechanical devices

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment
