The Plant EHS Manager is responsible for protecting the health and safety of all TCCA employees while championing environmental stewardship and ensuring full regulatory compliance. As a key member of the Boardman Site Leadership Team, this role helps shape and drive the site’s vision, strategic direction, and performance objectives toward achieving a world class EHS culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5 years’ experience in the EHS function requried
  • Computer proficiency and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute TCCA’s strategy for proactive employee engagement in EHS programs using industry best practices and regulatory guidance.
  • Administer all site EHS programs—including training, workers’ compensation, incentive programs, and compliance with OR‑OSHA, OR‑DEQ, and U.S. EPA regulations—to support corporate EHS objectives.
  • Conduct EHS audits, inspections, and hazard assessments to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop, deliver, monitor, and audit EHS and security training to ensure all employees meet annual compliance requirements.
  • Support and guide the site EHS Committee, ensuring strong communication, engagement, and follow‑through on action items.
  • Assist in developing, tracking, and reporting EHS metrics that highlight trends, improvement opportunities, and progress on goals.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation processes, including injury investigations, case tracking, medical appointments, and return‑to‑work documentation.
  • Administer and continuously improve site-specific and shared security programs, ensuring alignment with corporate policies.
  • Partner with site leadership to enhance EHS awareness, accountability, and understanding of EHS responsibilities across the facility.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements and industry trends to promote informed employee involvement and maintain compliance.
  • Follow and uphold Employee Safety policies and procedures outlined in the employee safety meetings, employee handbook, CBAs, posted in the work environment, and/or as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Report any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Follow and uphold procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party programs/audits.
  • Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed.
  • Insure a trained designee is appointed to cover for absences or vacancies.
