About The Position

As the Plant EHS Manager you will lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements while advancing EHS performance, engagement, and culture across the facility. The Plant EHS Manager serves as the site leader for EHS management systems and partners with key stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives aligned with business goals. This position also represents the organization with regulatory agencies, community leaders, and external stakeholders to promote trust, transparency, and effective EHS practices. Why This Role Matters Leads the facility's environmental, health, and safety strategy to support organizational goals and continuous performance improvement. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and company EHS requirements while minimizing environmental impacts and promoting sustainable practices. Serves as the Site EHS Management System Leader, driving implementation and sustainability of EHS management systems across the facility. Builds a strong safety culture by increasing workforce engagement, fostering learning, and partnering across functions to improve EHS performance. What You Will Do Lead environmental health and safety improvement strategy development and deployment within the plant. Develop, lead, and execute EHS initiatives that support business objectives and EHS goals. Support operating model processes that increase associate engagement, empowerment, and EHS performance improvement. Administer and continuously improve environmental and safety management systems, including ISO 14001 implementation and preparation for ISO 45001 certification. Facilitate EHS governance processes and establish key leading and lagging performance indicators. Build relationships with regulatory agencies, community leaders, and external stakeholders while promoting EHS best practices and a positive safety culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and leading proactive EHS programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years of management experience implementing and/or sustaining ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or comparable EHS management systems.
  • Demonstrated success improving EHS performance and building effective relationships with governmental regulatory agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, leadership and coaching abilities, problem-solving skills, business acumen, and written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in an environmental or safety discipline, engineering, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent certification is preferred.
