About The Position

This role is responsible for driving improvement and changes within the business, processing monthly and year-end closings, and producing financial statements. The Plant Cost Accountant will recommend business process improvements based on reviewed performance, handle bank and account reconciliations, make general ledger entries, and perform product costing via Bill of Materials. This position will also support general accounting duties for the manufacturer's materials division, compile reports as required by management, analyze financials, and drive increased information flow with real-time reporting implementation. The role involves working closely with all levels of management, employees, internal customers, and external auditors. Additional duties may be assigned by the Manager or Supervisor. The role also includes managing the manufacturing site accounting, reviewing performance monthly, and communicating as needed. Key responsibilities include balance sheet reconciliations, managing standard costing and inventory values, creating checks and balances for operational and data integrity, preparing and reconciling journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals monthly, handling inventory reconciliation, entering daily builds, managing inventory variations/adjustments, and receivable processing and follow-up. The position also participates in the development of financial strategies as part of the Accounting Team.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting Required
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Must be able to work strategically, and collaboratively across departments
  • Must be effective, versatile and action-oriented and have exceptional communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of cost accounting experience preferred
  • Manufacturing background preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • QuickBooks experience a plus
  • short term D365 or other ERP experience preferred
