About The Position

The Plant Controller is a strategic financial leader responsible for overseeing all plant-level accounting and financial activities within Toyo Tires North America manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, cost control, compliance, and supports operational decision-making. The Plant Controller plays a key role in guiding the financial performance of the plant, partnering with operations and corporate teams, and developing the leadership capabilities of their direct reports. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including financial analysis, cost management, compliance oversight, and strategic planning. The Controller serves as a key liaison between plant operations and corporate finance, ensuring accurate reporting, budget alignment, and risk mitigation. In addition to technical expertise, the role demands strong leadership to develop and guide the accounting team, foster cross-functional collaboration, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance or plant controlling.
  • 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of J-SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including training and mentoring.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with operations, engineering, and corporate teams.
  • Ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Skilled in cross-functional communication, especially during monthly and quarterly closings.
  • Ability to assess cost drivers, identify efficiency opportunities, and support cost-down initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and how they impact financial performance.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and participating in special projects.

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA.
  • Prior experience in tire or automotive manufacturing.
