Position Summary Based in either Columbus, OH or Atlanta, GA, and reporting to the Director, Operational Finance, the Plant Controller – East is accountable for managing product costing and margins, inventory valuations, manufacturing finance, and cost analysis activities across multiple production facilities, with direct responsibility for Atlanta, Columbus, and Patchogue. This role develops and maintains standard costs, analyzes manufacturing and supply chain variances, supports budgeting and forecasting, and provides actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and gross margin performance. Working closely with Brewery Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial and Finance, the Plant Controller – East ensures accurate product costing, inventory reporting, and manufacturing performance measurement while supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive cost accounting, plant controlling, manufacturing finance, or related operational finance experience.
Conversant with consumer packaged goods (CPG), beverage manufacturing, and supply chain environments, including beverage alcohol, brewing, food manufacturing, or related manufacturing industries.
Experience supporting multiple production facilities, preferably including direct plant controller experience.
Strong understanding of standard costing and inventory accounting.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, JDE, Oracle, or NetSuite.
At least one ERP transition, implementation, upgrade, or major process transformation experience required.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
Manufacturing cost accounting within an ERP.
Inventory accounting and controls.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and monitor standard costs for all SKUs, packaging formats, and breweries.
Ensure accurate costing of raw materials, packaging materials, labor, overhead, utilities, freight, and co-manufacturing activities and lead monthly cost rollups and standard cost updates.
Oversee inventory valuation methodologies and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Drive inventory and working capital optimization, including improving inventory turns, reducing excess and obsolete, and managing inventory provision.
Manage monthly close activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold, including reconciliations, accruals, and supporting internal and external audit activities.
Analyze and explain manufacturing variances, including translating operational metrics into financial impact.
Prepare monthly facility performance reports and KPI dashboards.
Partner with brewery leadership teams to identify cost savings and operational improvements, including supporting capital spending and monitoring project performance.
Develop consistent costing policies, procedures, and reporting standards across all locations.
Benchmark facility performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
Lead manufacturing cost budgets and forecasts, including scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and cost-to-serve analysis.
Support annual operating plans and long-range financial planning.
Maintain costing accuracy within ERP systems.
Participate as a subject matter expert in ERP implementations, upgrades, and process transformation initiatives.
Ensure strong controls over inventory, manufacturing costs, and COGS reporting.
Drive continuous improvement in costing methodologies, reporting tools, and business processes.
