About The Position

We are seeking a high-impact Plant Controller to lead the financial performance of a $100M+ manufacturing facility, with the scope, visibility, and influence of running a standalone business. This facility plays a critical role in our operations and is a key driver of performance and growth. This is not a back-office accounting role—this position offers the opportunity to drive continued performance improvement and operational excellence within a key manufacturing site. This is a true business partner to operations, working side-by-side with the Plant Manager and broader plant leadership team to drive performance, challenge decisions, and deliver results. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA/CMA strongly preferred)
  • 5-7 years of progressive finance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven Plant Controller (or equivalent plant finance leadership) experience
  • Strong expertise in: Standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis, Inventory and working capital management, Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Plex, Oracle, QAD, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and influence business decisions

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor to plant leadership, delivering actionable financial insights that influence decision-making
  • Own plant P&L performance — identifying risks, opportunities, and driving corrective actions
  • Partner with operations to drive cost reduction, margin improvement, and productivity gains
  • Own the month-end close, forecasting, and reporting processes with accuracy and speed
  • Lead manufacturing variance analysis (labor, material, overhead) and translate insights into action
  • Drive the annual budgeting and strategic planning process
  • Lead and maintain standard costing systems and cost visibility across the plant
  • Provide insight into manufacturing variances, inventory performance, and key cost drivers impacting profitability
  • Support critical decisions including make vs. buy, capital investments (CapEx), and program/product costing
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls
  • Partner with internal and external auditors
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting
  • Operate as a key member of the plant leadership team, influencing cross-functional decisions
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across finance, operations, and plant teams
  • Partner with shared services (AP/AR, etc.) to ensure alignment and execution
  • Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and performance
