About The Position

The Plant Controller will supervise and train the Accounting Assistant in processing payroll information and employee deductions, including periodic audits for accuracy. This role authorizes purchase requisitions and purchase orders, interfaces with corporate controllers on large purchases, and supervises the accounts payable function, reviewing all invoices and account charges. The Plant Controller monitors invoices for correct Sales & Use Tax accounting, requests bids, and evaluates quotes according to purchasing guidelines. Responsibilities also include developing new ways to computerize information and improve data management, interfacing with corporate HR on benefits and personnel policies, and calculating cost savings and paybacks. The role is authorized to initiate actions to prevent non-conformities related to product, processes, and the quality system, and to develop Bills of Materials (BOM) in the PLEX Manufacturing Computer System. Other essential functions may be assigned.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Supervise & train Accounting Assistant in processing payroll information & employee payroll deductions.
  • Periodically audit payroll information for accuracy.
  • Authorize all purchase requisitions & purchase orders.
  • Interface with corporate controllers as needed on large purchases.
  • Supervise the accounts payable function & review all invoices & Account charges.
  • Monitor all invoices for correct accounting of Sales & Use Taxes.
  • Request various bids as needed in accordance with purchasing guidelines & evaluate all quotes.
  • Develop new ways to computerize information & improve data management.
  • Interface with corporate Human Resources personnel in the development & implementation of all benefits & personnel policies.
  • Calculate cost savings & paybacks.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, processes, and quality system.
  • Develop (BOM) Bill of Materials in Manufacturing Computer System - PLEX.
  • Performs other essential functions as assigned.
