Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration degree preferred.
  • CPA/CMA certification desired.
  • 5-10 years as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing a staff.
  • Emphasis on cost accounting, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and SAP required.
  • Experience with ERP system implementations and IFS system desirable.
  • Proficient knowledge of US-GAAP desired.
  • Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional plant management team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required.
  • Industry experience is desirable, though not at the expense of a broad base of experience.
  • Experience in a private equity environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an active member of the Plant Leadership Team and a trusted advisor to other site leaders.
  • Analyze and accurately report monthly financial and operational results to plant and corporate management, adhering to corporate formats and deadlines.
  • Track and report critical KPIs (e.g., SQDIP/C) using an easy-to-understand dashboard.
  • Prepare monthly rolling forecasts and the annual operating plan for the plant.
  • Manage cost control, including budget preparation, actual-budget analysis, and proactive input to management for cost improvements or deviations.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Company’s global costing methodology, accurate profitability calculations, and variable margin analysis per production line and product.
  • Control capital project expenditures, including budget-actual analyses and providing financial input for capital expenditure proposals.
  • Recruit, develop, and coach the plant finance team, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and developing career paths.
  • Provide ad hoc support for special projects.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Oversee full legal entity balance sheet account reconciliations in coordination with GL shared service resources.
  • Maintain approval and tracking of site EBITDA add-back items.
  • Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting accurately and on time.
  • Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory and cycle counts, investigating and explaining book-to-physical adjustments.
  • Perform audits of bills of materials to ensure accurate product costing and proper accounting, reporting results quarterly.
  • Ensure the integrity of material master data (e.g., bill of materials, routings/recipes) for accurate ERP transactions reflecting production operations and costing.
  • Maintain a perpetual inventory for raw materials and finished goods, reconciling it weekly to production, shipping, and returns.
  • Attend daily plant production meetings and conduct daily walkthroughs with the Plant Manager to discuss production and costing issues, reviewing labor costs, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution costs, returns, and inventory levels.
  • Maintain and report on plant fixed assets, including GAAP roll-forwards, tax book values, and property tax reporting.
  • Conduct formal meetings with key department management to discuss plant issues and continuous improvement opportunities, developing and publishing agendas and recaps with action items.
  • Document and understand SAP systems, processes, and reporting conventions.
  • Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
  • Analyze internal controls to ensure asset safeguarding and accurate reporting.
  • Assure adherence to US GAAP and resolve questions regarding US GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.
