About The Position

The Plant Associate ensures waste is unloaded from vehicles, vehicles are decontaminated, and waste is properly staged for scanning and processing. The role performs these duties safely and productively. It operates in both indoor garage, shop, or gas plant conditions and outdoors, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring strict compliance with safety rules and protocols. The successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing as an ongoing employment requirement, in accordance with regulations and company policies.

Requirements

One year of experience, preferably in a plant environment.
Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow applicable health and safety directives, performance and conduct standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Unload waste from incoming vehicles and separate non-autoclavable waste for incineration.
Stage waste on the conveyor system or stack it appropriately for scanning in the Biotrack system.
Scan waste into the Biotrack system for recordkeeping.
Load autoclave bins or the incinerator hopper with waste for processing.
Place reusable containers on the tub wash line for decontamination.
Operate the tub wash unit, check that it operates properly, remove and inspect clean tubs, and stack them for loading onto the assigned vehicle for reuse.
Operate the tub wash sprayer for oversized reusable tubs, ensure proper operation, inspect tubs, and stack them for reuse.
Decontaminate vehicles’ cargo-carrying portions, reload assigned reusable tubs, ensure there is no free liquid on the cargo floor, and notify the plant supervisor when the vehicle is ready to leave the dock area.
Address housekeeping issues immediately, including cleaning spills, drying floors, and removing debris.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
