About The Position

Silgan Containers is seeking a Plant Accountant / Cost Accountant to support the financial performance of our Plover manufacturing facility. This role offers hands-on experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, inventory control, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and month-end close while partnering directly with plant leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Knowledge of accounting principles and Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

• Recent graduates welcome
• ERP experience (JD Edwards preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close and financial reporting
• Support cost accounting and inventory control activities
• Analyze manufacturing costs and inventory variances
• Maintain standard costs and Bills of Material (BOMs)
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
• Partner with operations leaders to improve plant performance
• Participate in plant operations meetings and walkthroughs
