About The Position

Matalco is hiring a Plant Accountant for its Franklin, Kentucky facility. The role supports the Plant Controller and Franklin management team, with a primary focus on inventory flows, manufacturing costing, and the financial administration of the Franklin Scrap Hub. It provides hands-on responsibility and day-to-day leadership for defined processes, including inventory reconciliations, Scrap Hub invoicing, the finance interface with Triple M Metal, maintenance of Franklin costing files, and analysis supporting operational activities. The role may also provide management accounting support to Matalco’s Shelbyville, Kentucky plant. The role complements rather than duplicates the existing Plant Controller structure. The Plant Controller retains ultimate accountability for financial reporting, internal controls, controllership, and site financial performance. Success is measured by reliable inventory reconciliations, accurate and timely Scrap Hub invoicing, improved visibility into Franklin costing, and useful operational analysis for Kentucky management. The position is primarily based in an office at the Franklin plant, with regular interaction with manufacturing and yard operations. Periodic travel to the Shelbyville plant and other Matalco locations may be required. Site safety rules and required PPE apply when entering manufacturing, yard, or rail areas. Workload may increase during month-end, physical inventory, budgeting and forecasting cycles, billing deadlines, and project ramp-up periods.
