About The Position
Sampson County is seeking a customer-focused team player to provide a combination of technical, administrative, and zoning-related services to support our planning and zoning functions. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills combined with organization, attention to detail, recordkeeping, computer proficiency and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment are essential for consideration of this key position. Work involves a mix of office and field duties in providing guidance on land use for all stakeholders and maintaining accurate documentation on ordinances and code enforcement.

- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, Public Administration or a related field.
- At least one year of direct experience in zoning, planning, or permitting.
- Valid NC Driver's License.
- North Carolina Certified Zoning Official (CZO) within two years of hire.
