Requirements

College Diploma in a related technical field.
At least five (5) years of relevant technical experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills and previous experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
Knowledge of operations and maintenance activities (Mechanical, civil and Electrical).
Experience in service contract management (quotation, call for tenders, etc.).
Eligibility for certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
Knowledge of applicable IT applications and tools as well as related office software (MS Office, SAP, etc.).
Valid Class G (ON) or Class 5 (QC) driver’s license and insurable driving record.
Eligibility for Marine Transportation Security Clearance.
Availability to undergo medical test and functional abilities evaluation.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and supervision of team members in achieving the department's mandate, its workload and its objectives related to the function.
Supervise the coordination and execution of work performed by the team (provide expertise and technical support to other departments, such as the Engineering and Asset Management group).
Manage daily performance, including implementation of safety practices, employee attendance, and work standards and methods based on policies and procedures.
Coordinate resources in assigning civil, mechanical, and electrical maintenance work and ensure compliance.
Participate in budget preparation and ensure the correct expenses are planned, including monitoring and recording cost overruns such as overtime, expenses, equipment, etc.
