About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. The person hired for the position of Planning Analyst will join the 3M Guin facility located in Guin, AL and support production planning operations. The person will be responsible for managing the end to end supply chain while ensuring customer requirements and supply chain metrics are attained. As a Planning Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Two (2) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain from an accredited institution
  • Four (4) years of supply chain, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, production, and/or customer service experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution and/or Planning System (e.g. SAP)
  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) CPIM certification is preferred. If not complete at the time this position is assumed, the certification will become part of the employee professional development plan as agreed between management and the employee.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt project experience and/or certification
  • Experience in Lean Scheduling or Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with Microsoft VBA Macros, SQL, MS Cloud Apps (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, Power BI).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the supply plan by purchasing raw materials, scheduling production and managing finished good inventory for multiple manufacturing areas
  • Coordinate with other 3M locations, external suppliers, and various business teams to meet service, cost, and Inventory targets
  • Develop and maintain operating rhythms to ensure smooth supply chain operations, aligning supply with demand
  • Provide planning analysis to support decision making
  • Publish and present service and inventory metrics, results, and gap analysis
  • Actively manage working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets
  • Identify and implement supply chain process improvement projects
  • Business transformation readiness activities and projects as assigned
  • Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties.
