About The Position

Through data-driven analysis and collaborative inventory management, the Allocation team ensures the right product reaches the right stores at the right time to help achieve brand financial objectives. During this 10-week summer internship, you will gain hands-on experience in retail allocation, learn foundational inventory strategy, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to support daily business operations. See for yourself what our past and present interns are up to @urbncareers! The URBN 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/7 through 8/13 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA. Summer Internship Program Application Process: Apply to one (1) internship posting that best aligns with your interests and skills. If there is a project component included in the application (see role qualifications below), it is required and must be submitted at the time of application to be considered for the position. Complete a Video Interview: Candidates selected to move forward will receive an email with a link to complete a video interview. Once the email is received, candidates will have two (2) days to complete this portion of the application. Interviews with our internal teams will be scheduled on a rolling basis. Applications will close at 5:00 PM EST on October 30, 2026.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working with numbers, basic retail math concepts, and a strong interest in retail data analysis.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., working with spreadsheets, basic formulas).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a desire to learn day-to-day retail operations.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred).
  • No prior formal allocation experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the allocation of initial product distributions and in-season store replenishment using our internal allocation systems.
  • Analyze weekly performance to track store inventory levels, identify stock opportunities, and support sales targets.
  • Work closely with Planning, Buying, Operations, and Store Planning partners to understand inventory flow and address store-level needs.
  • Participate in store visits to observe inventory management in action and identify site-specific product opportunities.
  • Develop a presentation with a focus on a specific business initiative designed to improve efficiency or identify growth opportunities within Allocation.
  • Analyze a specific product category, store grouping, or regional performance trend to uncover actionable inventory insights.
  • Develop tools, templates, or reporting enhancements to support daily allocation workflows.
  • Present key findings, recommendations, and project results to Allocation team leaders during the internship.
  • Project culminates with a presentation to brand leadership and cross-functional partners.
