About The Position

Urban Outfitters is seeking a Photo Studio Intern to support the daily operations of our studio photography and post-production teams. This is a hands-on role for someone looking to build real-world experience in commercial/e-commerce photography, from on-set production through image delivery. The URBN 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/7 through 8/13 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA. This paid internship program also offers a summer full of intern-focused events, including exposure to senior leadership through small-group settings, insight into company initiatives, off-site field trips, and, for those who qualify, the opportunity to interview for a full-time position.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in photography, visual arts, or related field.
  • Familiarity with Canon EOS camera systems and studio lighting (Capture One Pro a plus).
  • Passionate about fashion photography and the UO brand.
  • Retouching/Photoshop proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment.
  • Comfortable standing/moving for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs on set.
  • Submit a Concept Board (8.5 X 11 PDF format is preferred) with 3 – 5 fashion trends for the Urban Outfitters customer in Fall 2027, pulling imagery from blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, runway, etc.
  • Upload project and portfolio to the additional documents section in the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with lighting and equipment setup and breakdown, manage product handling and organization, assist digital techs during image capture, keep sets clean and support with day-to-day shoot needs.
  • Assist digital tech team with file preparation for DAM ingest, perform color correction and retouching tasks as directed, and help maintain product folders and archives.
  • Attend production meetings and take notes on shot lists, communicate proactively with photographers, stylists, and post-production leads on shoot status, and help maintain studio supplies and equipment inventory.
