About The Position

This is a full-time, onsite position in Irvine, CA, for a Planner. The role involves ensuring the master production schedule is met to support customer service, inventory goals, and configuration control. The Planner will collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, quality, and shipping/receiving to maintain material flow and keep production on track. The shift is 1st shift (5x8 days) with flexible start times between 5 AM and 8 AM. This is an exclusive confidential search, and details will be shared with qualified applicants. There is potential for extended or permanent full-time employment.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship (required for work/contract access)
  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience (entry-level professional position)
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing operations and manufacturing resource planning principles
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methods (e.g., pull systems, process mapping, JIT)
  • Ability to research and analyze data and develop recommendations
  • Ability to work with general direction, set priorities, and manage scope of assignments
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and policies
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or business stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • CPIM certification
  • Experience with manufacturing resource planning systems and standard business application software
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, issue, and control basic production schedules and material requirements to meet production needs.
  • Identify raw material and component requirements from engineering and production specifications.
  • Maintain accurate item master schedules and bills of material.
  • Advise management on work-in-progress status, material availability, and potential production problems.
  • Prepare work orders or purchase requests to support the master production schedule and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinate material movements and expedite parts via move orders or stock transfers to meet shipping dates.
  • Project hardware availability for assembly build schedules and contribute to monthly sales planning objectives.
  • Analyze inventory usage, scrap, and waste to identify issues impacting inventory targets.
  • Monitor component shortage status and prepare short-term shortage layouts for assigned programs.
  • Maintain configuration control on open orders and required data files.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Contract Administration.
  • Recommend process or product changes to improve efficiency and reduce cost using continuous improvement principles.
