About The Position

The Planner plans, organizes, controls, and executes production schedules for designated products, coordinating schedules around actual and forecast customer demand, product demand profiles, capacity, cycle times, urgency, and material availability. The role analyzes the effects of customer schedules on internal functions, maintains accurate information for materials requirements planning, and revises plans based on actual performance. It manages planning issues related to engineering changes and supports new-product introductions and product transfers by planning materials against project deadlines. The Planner communicates material availability, demand variances, and short- and long-term shipment commitments to customers and procurement, and coordinates resources to meet shipment commitments. The role monitors inventory, backlog, availability, exposure, and on-time delivery, and develops recovery plans when shipments are missed. It also improves planning and order-fulfillment processes, supports employees of North American Order Fulfillment (NAOF), and provides guidance, training, and expertise to other employees, sites, and departments. The position works independently on most assignments under general supervision, referring matters outside standard procedures to a manager or expert resource.
