About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups with over 60 years of experience serving the nuclear industry globally. We are seeking a Planner to support Planning and Scheduling activities. This role involves developing, baselining, updating, and maintaining project schedules, supporting resource and budget loading, and ensuring accurate data extraction for cost control. The Planner will issue schedules to stakeholders, ensure accurate progress measurement, monitor schedule performance, identify variances, analyze earned value impacts, and report critical schedule issues. Additionally, the role includes preparing and updating resource requirement reports, interfacing with the Project Controls team, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction for an integrated schedule, and analyzing schedule findings for communication to leadership.

Requirements

  • University degree (B.Eng, BCom, etc.) and 5+ years of planning, scheduling, and cost control experience in engineering/construction.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques such as critical path method, progress measurement, earned value, and extensive hands‑on planning, analysis, and reporting experience.
  • Understanding of project controls policies and procedures, supported by strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Effective communicator with strong report writing, presentation, and client‑interaction skills; able to build strong working relationships across teams and partners.
  • Organized, able to prioritize, meet deadlines under pressure, and apply practical problem‑solving with a results‑oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Nuclear new‑build experience is an asset.
  • Preferred strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and the ability to learn new software quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, baseline, update, and maintain project schedules.
  • Support resource and budget loading activities and ensure Primavera data is properly extracted and shared with cost control.
  • Issue schedules for both internal and external stakeholders and ensure accurate progress measurement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and control schedule performance, identify variances, analyze earned value impacts, and report critical schedule issues.
  • Prepare and update resource requirement reports and highlight areas of concern.
  • Interface with the broader Project Controls team, Engineering, Procurement and Construction to maintain an integrated schedule.
  • Analyze schedule and communicate key findings to the Lead Planner, Project Controls Manager and Project Manager.
