As a Planner/Scheduler, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful execution of maintenance and capital projects in a highly regulated chemical manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed, resource-loaded schedules that ensure timely, cost-effective, and safe execution of work—minimizing equipment downtime and aligning maintenance efforts with production priorities. You will collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to optimize scheduling outcomes in line with Eastman's plant goals and turnaround strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of industrial experience in planning/scheduling within chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Proficient in SAP PM, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment specs to build accurate job plans.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships across client and contractor teams.
  • Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with turnaround/outage planning and coordination is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of OSHA, PSM, and environmental safety regulations applicable to chemical manufacturing is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed job plans and integrated project schedules using SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities in alignment with plant production schedules and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to define job scopes, labor requirements, craft sequencing, and shutdown windows.
  • Interface with material planners and procurement to ensure timely availability of tools, equipment, and long-lead items.
  • Lead scheduling meetings and provide schedule status updates and forecasts to internal stakeholders and client representatives.
  • Monitor job progress and update plans to reflect scope changes, field conditions, or emergency work.
  • Perform schedule analysis and optimization to improve resource utilization and reduce downtime.
  • Assist in preparing cost and labor forecasts and support capital budgeting efforts.
  • Create, issue, and manage work orders in SAP and ensure accurate documentation of executed work.
  • Maintain detailed records and historical data to support performance tracking and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with site-specific safety procedures, environmental regulations, and CAM/Eastman quality standards.
