Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to heed signals in data and want to understand root causes
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with immediate team members, pilots, and Labor Representatives
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams to solve problems and support peer development
  • Analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, data analysis, and strategic decision making
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Aviation/Aeronautics, Statistics, or related field
  • Knowledge of optimization software

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full life cycle of our monthly pilot award process, including planning, analysis, execution, and communication of outcomes to key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for working cross-functionally with other Flight Operations groups including Workforce Planning, Pairings, Crew Scheduling, the Flight Training Center, as well as Representatives from the pilot union.
  • Support analyses and presentations for Flight Operations’ leadership to identify findings from each bid month, including pilot award outcomes, award run time performance, and managing monthly reserve delivery for operational integrity.
  • Pre-tests monthly schedule production scenarios to find the best possible outcome for the month, ensure that all trips are legal to award for the upcoming month, and optimize reserve distribution by fleet to support operational integrity.
  • Participates in monthly pilot schedule production process including adjusting pilot assignments and reserve coverage, interacting closely with Pilot Workforce Planning, Pilot Training and Execution and Pairing Production teams as well as our ALPA representatives to ensure plan accuracy, executing refreshes before optimization begins, and executing base optimization each month.
  • Work on monthly schedule scenarios as needed to provide insight into solvability.
  • Executes the post award PBS process, which includes dispute resolution and schedule repair.
  • Conducts monthly lookback analysis and learnings for senior leadership.
