About The Position

New Porgera Limited (NPL) is seeking a Planner – Material Coordinator – Construction Projects for the Capital and Projects Department. This role reports to the Superintendent – Community Projects and is crucial for aligning construction schedules with material supply chains. The successful candidate will ensure the timely availability of materials and equipment, maintain accurate documentation, minimize project delays, and optimize workflow efficiency.

Requirements

Proven experience in planning or material coordination within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction materials, procurement, and supply chain logistics
Proficiency with project management and inventory software (e.g., MS Project, excel, SAP, etc.)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize under pressure
Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
Must have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)

Nice To Haves

Relevant qualifications in construction management, logistics, or engineering are desirable

Responsibilities

Develop and manage project material schedules aligned with construction timelines
Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials
Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage storage logistics
Identify and mitigate risks related to material availability or delays
Collaborate with project managers to align planning with on-site needs
Maintain accurate records of material usage, deliveries, and costs
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in material handling
Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Policy and all related rules and procedures
