About The Position

This role is responsible for creating and managing shop orders and build orders based on item attributes and demand. The planner will release shop orders to Production based on priority and material availability, and will also create or assist in creating production and assembly schedules. Collaboration with production leadership, the Purchasing team, and Sales/Customer Service is essential for managing work order status, expediting part shortages, and mitigating late shipments. The planner will use the ERP system to track critical customer orders and suggest improvements to workflow and production control to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Ability to collaboration across multiple functional areas.
  • Ability to problem solve, seek root-causes, and create counter-measures.
  • Understanding of the importance of data governance.
  • Basic understanding of Production and Supply Planning.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • High school diploma or (GED) and one year related experience and training.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Create shop orders and build orders based on item attributes and demand, and release shop orders to Production based on priority and material availability.
  • Create or assist in creating production schedules based on priority and material availability.
  • Create or assist in creating assembly schedules for each product line based on sales order priority and component availability.
  • Collaborate with production leadership regarding work orders status.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to identify and expedite part shortages and provide updates to management and/or Customer Service.
  • Working with multiple functional areas, recommend or initiate production rescheduling based on material availability, capacity and customer requests in order to mitigate late shipments.
  • Support Sales/Customer Service with satisfying customer requests and provide an accurate recovery schedule for missed shipments.
  • Using the ERP system, map and track critical customer orders from production to shipping and provide Sales/Customer Service with accurate updates.
  • Suggests and implements improvements in work flow, and other aspects of production control to support continuous improvement.
