The Master Scheduler leverages excellent communication and analytical skills to develop and maintain Unicel Architectural's master manufacturing/production schedule in Longueuil, Quebec. This role is crucial for ensuring production objectives, initiatives, and projects align with team goals and performance indicators. The Master Scheduler will manage and effectively communicate schedules, deadlines, and project progress using capacity planning tools, with schedules potentially varying from daily to long-term project plans. They will gather progress information from production supervisors to identify constraints that could lead to delivery delays or late project starts. The position involves formulating recommendations for load balancing through strategic planning of work cells, resources, operators, work hours, and project flow to ensure more balanced labor resource utilization. A key responsibility is to review and develop a recovery plan for any project that misses its planned start date or appears to be falling behind schedule. The Master Scheduler will communicate daily workload priorities to supervisors and team leads, forecast and establish appropriate stock levels, and identify material, labor, and machine needs for work cells. They will also review order constraints for any outstanding orders or late items and inform the purchasing department, plan and schedule shipments based on project number, dollar volume, customer expectations, and production goals, and maintain detailed documentation of all shipments and freight with appropriate identification and arrival information. The role includes managing operational performance indicators, keeping data updated for each department, and contributing to the development of standard practices, SOPs, procedures, production tools, and techniques to improve operational efficiency and quality. Additionally, the Master Scheduler will review all Customer Service Incident (CSI) related projects and determine their impact on the schedule, review projects awaiting validation and/or transfer to Work In Progress (WIP), and validate or remove them from the schedule/capacity planner as needed. They will also gather and reconcile competing schedule needs from project managers and develop the optimal scenario in the production capacity planner.
