You aspire to joining our Flight Operations department, equipped with 2 experimental aircraft to support flight test objectives, and 2 business aircraft to serve P&WC employees and executives. The Aircraft Maintenance Planner and Quality Auditor is responsible to the Quality Manager. This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Mirabel and performed exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in aircraft planning functions.
  • Bachelor's degree or DEC in aircraft maintenance or Aerospace Engineering
  • Has in-depth knowledge of the discipline and role.
  • Contributes to their team or department by applying their knowledge of one or more functional areas.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Experience in software data processing and with Microsoft Office software.
  • Remains professional and calm in stressful situations.
  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Build the maintenance program using regulatory information and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with Transport Canada and the FAA authorities to ensure continued approval of the aircraft maintenance program.
  • Create and publish Aircraft Maintenance Plans with associated schedules that ensure compliance with Transport Canada and FAA regulation authorities.
  • Prepare progress reports of maintenance activities and coordinate them with service suppliers as well as mobile repair providers.
  • Develop a maintenance strategy to ensure flights, maximize aircraft availability, optimize resource utilization, and reduce operational costs.
  • Update and maintain aircraft maintenance plans in the computerized aircraft maintenance software.
  • Review and amend all Airworthiness Directives (AD) and manuals under his / her responsibilities.
  • Perform internal (scheduled or unscheduled) quality assurance audits of P&WC flight test operations and/or external audits.
  • Ensure that all declarations of conformance are documented and backed by evidence.
  • Review weight and balance reports and amendments.
  • Inspect sub-contracted parts to ensure part conformity to drawing requirements.
  • Ensure that all work performed is completed before the maintenance release is signed and that the work performed and certifications have been entered in the aeronautical product technical record prior to aircraft return to service.
  • Monitor that appropriate entries have been made to the aircraft journey log with respect to the maintenance function.
  • Ensure certification made by the Authorized Inspector is made under the AMO system and in accordance with MPM Parts 1 and 2.
  • Ensure that components, parts, and materials used in maintaining aircraft have been certified in accordance with CAR requirements.
  • Report to the Manager, Quality Control, all aircraft incidents, accidents, and component and/or part failures.
