About The Position

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Huntsville, AL, is looking for a Maintenance person with a proven track record to join our team. Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is a leading manufacturer of pipe and fittings. We are the only manufacturer that offers a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential and commercial plumbing systems and industrial applications. In this position, you will trouble shoot, diagnose, repair and/or replace simple to complex plant and production equipment. You will be responsible for operating welders and fabrication equipment, overhauling motors, pumps, etc. and special project work. You will also analyze power supply needs and perform preventative maintenance functions.

Requirements

  • Previous experience (3-5 years) within an industrial environment as a maintenance technician.
  • Operate and maintain all DC and AC electrical control systems including electrical motor and drive systems.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing of simple to complex control systems utilizing PLC’s.
  • Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills with hydraulic and pneumatic systems (control and 480 V).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic drawings and schematics.
  • Basic knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, and pumping systems.
  • Excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Ability to provide personal hand tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience within an industrial environment as a maintenance technician.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Injection Molding and/or Extrusion Equipment a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Trouble shoot, diagnose, repair and/or replace simple to complex plant and production equipment.
  • Operate welders and fabrication equipment.
  • Overhaul motors, pumps, etc.
  • Perform special project work.
  • Analyze power supply needs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance functions.
  • Installation and maintenance of all power transmission equipment
  • Operate and maintain all simple to moderately complex DC control systems
  • Operate and maintain all simple to moderately complex AC control systems
  • Maintain and trouble shoot all plant motors
  • Pump installation and maintenance
  • Layout and installation of piping and tubing systems
  • Troubleshoot and understand hydraulic circuits
  • Rigging for removal and installation of equipment and components
  • Installation of new and retrofit equipment
