About The Position

Unique Industries is hiring a safety-minded material handler to operate Powered Industrial Truck equipment in Blairs, Virginia. PIT Operators support production and efficient workflow within their department, including maintaining department pick standards through the use of powered equipment. The role includes order picking and packing, shipping and receiving, inventory, replenishing stock, paperwork, and other general warehouse duties. Employees must attain and maintain a current PIT license. The starting hourly pay rate is $18.00; actual pay depends on qualifications, compensation guidelines, and business needs.

Requirements

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to multitask and follow through on requested tasks.
Proficiency operating a Turret Truck, Reach Truck, Walkie Rider, Sit-down Counterbalance, and Order Picker.
Must attain and keep a current P.I.T. license.
Frequently stand, walk, sit, and perform repetitive hand motions.
Occasionally reach overhead, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally work at heights above 30 feet.

Nice To Haves

One year of prior experience and/or training in a distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Select products for requested work to assist the department.
Help troubleshoot work-process problems and relay information to Leads and/or a Supervisor.
Pick and pack orders; perform shipping, receiving, inventory, and other general warehouse duties.
Complete department paperwork according to the applicable SOP.
Replenish materials ordered to stock the assigned zone.
Maintain a professional manner and constructive working relationships.
Demonstrate commitment to company-wide quality and safety.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
