About The Position

The Pit Manager is responsible for monitoring the daily operations of the Table Games Department. The successful incumbent will assist with mentoring, motivating, and performance management of all associates. This role provides outstanding customer service by being friendly, outgoing, and approachable to each interaction, whether it is a guest or an associate.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a full-time Dealer Supervisor and/or a minimum of one year experience in the capacity of a Floor Manager
  • Previous management experience required
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of Table Games in order to provide guidance to Dealers and Dealer Supervisors on the floor
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office, Windows and any present or future internal (e.g. Halo) or external gaming management systems (e.g. CMS, IVS, iTrak.)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays. The hours of work will be based on operational needs
  • Knowledge of all forms of cheating at play and advantage play in the Casino environment, including manipulation of slot machines
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a group setting or presentation setting with employees, upper management, terminal managers, and customers
  • Mathematical Skills, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw from valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of mathematical equations and diagrams and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Valid GAMW License
  • BCLC Certifications
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Able to lift, handle, and transport materials that are over 20lbs
  • Required to sit, stand and walk during working hours

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Commerce, Casino Management, or related field preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education an asset

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, directs, and supervises Dealers and Dealer Supervisors, observes table action in each Pit adhering to Company policies and BCLC regulations
  • Act as the Relief Casino Shift Manager as required
  • Provide and ensure a high standard of game security and customer service is maintained
  • Maximize efficiencies through the constant monitoring of all games and activities on the Gaming Floor
  • Identify and facilitate the opening/closing of table games
  • Identify and facilitate minimum betting limits, according to business demands
  • Establish and maintain a daily “PIT LOG” including a summary of LCT’s and significant buy-in’s and cash-outs
  • Maintain inventory and levels of Gaming Supplies, performing regular maintenance scheduling as required
  • Resolve issues related to electronic gaming
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy with Player Rating Cards
  • Arbitrates customer disputes both on and off the floor
  • Safeguard casino assets
  • Accurately and completely document all necessary FINTRAC forms generated from play in the casino during each shift
  • Train relief managers
  • Provide support for Table Games Shift Manager
  • Supervise, document, and coach all Associates
  • Compile and assist Dealer Supervisors with Incident Reports
  • Disciplines or commends, either verbal or written, in accordance with the company policies as needed
  • Assist in performance reviews for Dealers and Dealer Supervisors
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and manage all gaming and non-gaming casino site activities, in accordance with BCLC and Parq Vancouver standards, policies and procedures.
  • Liaise daily with Department Managers, Marketing, and Schedulers to ensure knowledge of current activities and events
  • Assist the Table Games Administrator and Shift Managers with the daily schedule, floor plan, training, and preparation of reports
  • Regularly reports to the Shift Manager any operational, customer, or personnel problems
  • Makes recommendations for COMPS to qualifying players
  • Regularly reports any recommendations or observations to the Shift Manager that will facilitate the successful operation of the casino
  • Liaises with Surveillance over selected gaming & non-gaming related issues
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Table Games or Shift Manager or engage in duties that are generally encompassed under the job description of Supervisors
