Pit Loader Operator
About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role operates pit loader equipment safely and efficiently to load materials for processing or transport, performs daily equipment inspections, and maintains consistent material flow while meeting production and quality targets. The position requires adherence to all safety, environmental, and operational procedures and clear communication with team members to support smooth and efficient operations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated capability to operate heavy mobile equipment safely and responsibly
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify basic equipment issues
- Dependable, adaptable, and able to perform in a production‑focused environment
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check

- Operate pit loader equipment safely and efficiently to load materials for processing or transport
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain consistent material flow while meeting production and quality targets
- Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures at all times
- Communicate clearly with team members to support smooth and efficient operations
