About The Position

John F. Martin & Sons, LLC is a third-generation, family-owned manufacturer and distributor of meat and cheese products. The company is hiring a PIT Mechanic for material handling equipment at its Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania location. This first-shift position primarily maintains material-handling and PIT equipment, with an opportunity for training and work on process equipment. The role includes preventive maintenance, corrective work, and troubleshooting and repair of equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet trucks. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the use of warehouse equipment. Offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Requirements

Previous experience in general maintenance or equivalent experience is preferred.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Dependable, self-motivated, able to complete tasks promptly, and positive in attitude.
Willingness to learn and grow with the company.
Effective verbal and written communication and good interpersonal skills.
Ability to stand and walk throughout the day and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Previous experience in food manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, corrective work, troubleshooting, and repairs on PIT equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet trucks.
Work independently or with a team to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the PIT fleet.
Use OEM manuals and/or verbal instructions to complete work.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Potentially train and work with process equipment.
