About The Position

John F. Martin & Sons, LLC is hiring a PIT mechanic for material handling equipment at its Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania location. This first-shift position primarily performs preventive maintenance, corrective work, troubleshooting, and repairs on powered industrial truck (PIT) equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet trucks. The employee may also have the opportunity to train and work with process equipment. The role requires working independently or as part of a team, following OEM manuals or verbal instructions, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This is a safety-sensitive position involving warehouse equipment. Offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Requirements

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to work from OEM manuals and/or verbal instructions.
Effective verbal and written communication and good interpersonal skills.
Good organizational and time-management skills; dependable, self-motivated, prompt, positive, and willing to learn and grow.
Ability to stand and walk throughout the day and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with general maintenance or equivalent experience is preferred.
Previous experience in food manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, corrective work, troubleshooting, and repairs on PIT equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet trucks.
Work independently or with a team to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the PIT fleet.
Follow OEM manuals and/or verbal instructions.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Potentially train and work with process equipment.
