Responsibilities The Piping Valve Specialist plays a critical role in advancing Eastman’s commitment to safe, cost-effective piping designs. This position ensures the integrity and efficiency of piping systems through engineering guidance and collaborative teamwork.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of process piping valve technology in an industrial setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME B31.3 piping code and best engineering practices.
  • Familiar with valve scope of API standards such as API 600, 602, and 603.
  • Deep understanding of valve failure mechanisms and performance.
  • Strong command of English, with excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and adept at managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on valve selection based on performance requirements and commercial availability.
  • Maintain information systems related to the design and procurement of valves and operators.
  • Perform root cause investigations for failures and quality deficiencies.
  • Apply knowledge of piping inspection techniques to support design and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare detailed reports and deliverables in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Share industry advancements to elevate Eastman’s piping engineering and design practices.
  • Contribute to team growth through mentoring, training, and participation in peer reviews.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Support occasional travel and off-hours work as required.
