The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline performs evaluations for piping systems in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.7, and other codes as applicable to the specific evaluation being performed. The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline also performs specialty topics including vibration monitoring and analysis, evaluation of hydraulic transients, thermal stratification effects, operability evaluations, qualification of piping for hydrodynamic loads, pipe rupture evaluations, evaluation of pipe wall thinning, and pipe flaw evaluations. This position provides technical support on projects by performing engineering tasks such as preparing calculations, specifications, and component designs. Most tasks are performed under minimal supervision. Mid-level staff support engineering design projects with responsibilities including preparing complex calculations, reviewing simple calculations and designs, preparing documented design input for drawing production, preparing specifications for balance of plant equipment, preparing bid evaluations for single components, and preparing simple reports/studies. The role also involves providing input to project budgets, schedules, and work plans, monitoring work to ensure completion within budget and on schedule, and using effective communication skills to convey information to project team members and managers. Communication with vendors is done via clearly written and complete specifications. The engineer applies accepted standards and processes, completes work assignments within schedule, and may mentor entry-level engineers. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.
