About The Position

The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline performs evaluations for piping systems in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.7, and other codes as applicable to the specific evaluation being performed. The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline also performs specialty topics including vibration monitoring and analysis, evaluation of hydraulic transients, thermal stratification effects, operability evaluations, qualification of piping for hydrodynamic loads, pipe rupture evaluations, evaluation of pipe wall thinning due to flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) or microbiological induced corrosion (MIC), and pipe flaw evaluations. This position provides senior level technical direction and supervision to the project team members in his/her discipline. Establishes project task schedules and budgets for his/her discipline to meet overall project requirements. Coordinates activities between disciplines. Is responsible for successful completion of project deliverables to meet all technical, quality, and project controls expectations. Serves as a technical liaison with the client and a lead technical resource on projects. Lead engineers support engineering design projects by reviewing complex calculations and approving simple calculations, providing technical guidance to project team members, and ensuring calculations are technically sound and in accordance with project requirements. They also review and approve simple system/structural designs and prepare and review complex system/structural designs to ensure completeness, accuracy, quality, constructability, and operability. Additionally, they perform engineering review of drawings, review design input for complex system/structures, define client expectations for drawings, coordinate interface between design and engineering, and actively participate in design reviews. Preparation and review of major system, installation, and material specifications, defining technical and commercial requirements, and scheduling of vendor submittals are also key responsibilities. The role involves preparing bid evaluations for complex systems and installation scopes, participating in bid negotiations with vendors, and potentially evaluating change orders. Finally, lead engineers prepare and review single-discipline, complex reports/studies, participate in the preparation of multi-discipline reports, and review studies and reports to ensure conclusions are technically sound, cost-effective, and clearly communicated.
